10 Best New York Campsites

Betty & Wilbur Davis State Park

This park is located in Southern Otsego County and is known for its amazing views to the south and west of the hill it sets upon. Most of this park is composed of forests or rolling meadowlands, but there are also two ponds and is frequented especially by birdwatchers and nature lovers. If you prefer to get away from everything unnatural when you camp, you’ll like this campsite.

The camp provides a peaceful setting along with distinct views from nearly every point on the campground, which make for an enjoyable stay. You can hike, snowmobile, or fish, among other fun activities. For the sports fan, the park is located only ten minutes from the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. This allows you to visit the campsite for a few days, and then check out the museum on your drive home, to make the most out of your stay.
