It may be difficult to think clearly immediately after a car accident. Many people flee the scene of an accident, which is possibly the worst thing you can do. By fleeing, you make an accident scene a crime scene, which results in a good deal more trouble and headache.
Stay where you are. Wait for the police to get there, and make sure everyone is okay. Even if you are at fault, you are better served by staying, as opposed to trying to run from the accident you caused.
