Don’t Share Personal Information
If you don’t have to give your Social Security number, date of birth, or other personal information, don’t. Especially through social media or to unknown sources who solicit you for personal information.
Even for certain credit card or store credit accounts, it isn’t required to provide your Social Security number or other information. If it isn’t 100% required, and if you don’t trust the source, do not share the information.
