(e) HEAT SINK.

A heat sink is used together with computer fans to expel excess heat from the CPU. Due to it’s high processing power, a CPU becomes extremely hot within seconds after the computer is powered on. When a processor becomes hot it automatically powers off the computer. To prevent this from happening, a heat sink is placed directly ontop of the processor to drain off heat. The heat sink is primarily made of aluminum as it is a good conductor of heat.

Computers have simplified many activities that required human interventions. Modern Computers have high processing powers compared to their predecessors. Advancements in technology have enabled computers to undertake complex duties like weather forecasting and scientific research. Computer technology has also enabled man to explore outside the world.
