Bill Clinton’s Affair with Monica Lewinsky
Considered to be the most publicized affair in American history by many, Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky wasn’t just adulterous, it was scandalous. Lewinsky was, at the time, a young intern working at the White House. After allegations leaked, the situation quickly spiraled out of control and Clinton lied in a bid to protect his wife.
This led to a call for impeachment by the American public, who clearly don’t appreciate being lied to even if it’s about someone’s private sex life. After a lengthy public trial, Clinton was impeached on two separate charges; one of perjury for lying on the stand, and another for obstruction of justice.
